Cookie Policy
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about you. They help websites work properly and can improve your experience by remembering your preferences.
How we use cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep our website secure and working properly
- Remember your progress through our quote forms
- Understand how visitors use our website (so we can improve it)
- Remember your cookie preferences
Essential cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function. You cannot opt out of these.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| session | Keeps you logged in during your visit | Session |
| csrf_token | Security - prevents cross-site request forgery | Session |
| cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie preferences | 1 year |
Analytics cookies
These help us understand how visitors interact with our website.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics - distinguishes users | 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics - distinguishes users | 24 hours |
| _gat | Google Analytics - throttles request rate | 1 minute |
Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics. It shares usage and technical information with Google to help us improve the website. Advertising consent is a separate choice.
Marketing cookies
Essential storage keeps this site and your quote working. Analytics shares usage with Google Analytics. Advertising shares visits, charger selections and successful enquiries, browser/IP information and advertising cookies with Meta to measure and optimise Facebook and Instagram ads. No names, email addresses or phone numbers are shared for matching. Choose freely and change your choice in Cookie settings. We retain your choice, time, region and this notice as evidence. The Meta Pixel uses _fbp and _fbc advertising cookies (up to 90 days). The Conversions API reports successful website enquiries to Meta from our server using the same event identifier as the browser, so an enquiry is not counted twice. Both require advertising acceptance, including in the UK. We do not replay enquiries that happened before acceptance. Ad clicks and impressions count either way.
Managing your cookie preferences
Accept all, Reject all and Manage are equally available. Essential storage stays on. We remember your choice for one year and retain previous choices, times, region and notice version as evidence when you withdraw. Withdrawal stops new browser and server advertising events, including in other open tabs.
Our separate first-party campaign record remembers the original referral, landing page, campaign details and click reference for 90 days, so we can identify where your enquiry came from. It stays in our customer records and does not authorise sharing with Meta or Google.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Here's how to manage cookies in popular browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Note: Blocking essential cookies may prevent some parts of our website from working properly, such as the quote form.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use:
- Google Analytics: For website usage statistics
- Embedded maps: If we display a map on our contact page
These third parties have their own privacy policies governing how they use the data they collect.
Updates to this policy
We may update this cookie policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
