    Commercial Solar & Battery

Cut operating costs, meet sustainability targets, and future-proof your business with commercial-scale renewable energy systems.

    Why Commercial Renewables?

Energy costs are one of the largest overheads for many businesses. On-site solar generation and battery storage can dramatically reduce these costs while demonstrating genuine commitment to sustainability.

Commercial rooftops are ideal for solar – large, often flat or south-facing, and energy is used during daylight hours when generation is highest. This means exceptional self-consumption rates and fast payback.

Add battery storage to shift usage away from expensive peak rates, provide backup power, and store excess solar for evening use. The complete solution for energy-conscious businesses.

    Commercial Renewables Suit:

    • Warehouses and industrial units with large roof space
    • Offices looking to reduce operating costs
    • Retail premises wanting to cut bills and go green
    • Schools and public buildings with net-zero targets
    • Landlords adding value to commercial properties

How Commercial Solar and Battery Systems Are Specified

A commercial renewable system is sized against consumption, not roof area. The value sits almost entirely in self-consumption: every kilowatt-hour you generate and use on site displaces electricity bought at your full import rate, while exported units earn a fraction of that. The first job on any site is therefore a half-hourly load analysis from your supply meter, not a panel count.

Matching generation to the load profile

Warehouses, manufacturing units and offices tend to draw hardest between 8am and 6pm, which maps neatly onto the solar generation curve, these are the sites where an array can run at 80% or better self-consumption without any storage at all. Premises with evening or weekend-heavy demand, or with large summer shutdowns, need either a smaller array or storage to soak up midday surplus. We model both cases before quoting so the payback figure reflects your actual meter data rather than a generic yield assumption.

    Where batteries earn their keep

On commercial sites, battery storage usually pays through three routes: shifting consumption out of expensive peak and red-band distribution periods, storing surplus generation for evening or early-morning use, and trimming maximum demand where your capacity charges are driven by short spikes. Peak shaving is often the quietest of the three and the most valuable, particularly on sites with large intermittent loads such as compressors, chillers or rapid EV chargers.

    Roof, structure and connection constraints

Before design finalises we check three things that routinely reshape a scheme: the structural capacity of the roof and its remaining membrane life, the spare capacity in your existing incoming supply and switchgear, and what your Distribution Network Operator will accept for export. Systems above the standard connection thresholds need an application before commissioning, and export limitation is frequently the pragmatic answer where the network is constrained.

Phasing and integration with EV charging

Most sites are better served by installing the containment, inverter capacity and switchgear for the full scheme, then adding panels, storage and charge points in phases as budget and demand allow. That matters most where EV charging is planned: solar, storage and chargers sharing one intelligently managed connection is consistently cheaper than three separate projects retrofitted to each other later.
