Home charger installs for fleet, van and company car drivers
Company cars and vans are reimbursed differently
HMRC's advisory electricity rates (7p per mile at home, 15p per mile on public chargers from 1 September 2026) are set for company cars. They don't cover vans, so van drivers are usually reimbursed for the actual electricity used, which is where a charger that records each session earns its keep. Your accountant should confirm the right approach for your fleet. We'll set the chargers up to give them the data either way.

Programme Benefits
Everything managed, from install to reimbursement
Home Installation
Standard domestic charger installs at each driver's home. Consistent quality, managed centrally.
Reimbursement
HMRC-compliant reimbursement tracking. Drivers charge at home, you reimburse fairly.
Programme Management
Driver comms, scheduling, compliance, and SLAs, all managed for you.
Driver Support
Each driver gets clear instructions, installation booking, and ongoing support.
Maintenance Available
Maintenance is available as part of the programme, so faults get fixed without chasing.
Replacing a previous installer
If your old home-charging supplier has stopped taking orders, we can take over new driver installs using the same standard, and look after the chargers already fitted.
Compliance & Reporting
Full audit trail, installation certificates, and periodic reporting for your fleet team.
How We Work

Programme Design
We agree installation standards, SLAs, driver communications, and reimbursement approach.
Driver Onboarding
Each driver receives a booking link. We handle surveys, scheduling, and install at their home.
Installation
Standard domestic 7kW charger installs at each address. Consistent quality every time.
Reimbursement Setup
We help configure reimbursement based on HMRC advisory rates or per-kWh tracking.
Ongoing Management
Maintenance, fault resolution, reporting, and new driver onboarding as your fleet grows.
Maintenance available as part of the programme
Ongoing maintenance support is available for every charger in the programme. We agree the level with you up front.

For fleets whose drivers take vehicles home, installing at the driver's address is almost always cheaper and faster than building depot infrastructure. There is no trenching, no supply upgrade and no queue for bays, but the programme succeeds or fails on administration rather than electrics.
One standard, every address
The point of a managed programme is consistency. Every driver gets the same charger specification, the same installation standard, the same certification pack and the same support route. That matters when a fleet manager needs to evidence compliance across forty properties they have never visited, and it removes the variability that comes from drivers arranging their own installs with whoever answers the phone locally.
Surveying remotely
Each driver completes a short photo-based survey covering the consumer unit, the meter position, the proposed charger location and the earthing arrangement. That identifies the small proportion of properties needing extra work, a consumer unit upgrade, an unusually long cable run, or an off-street parking issue, before an engineer is dispatched, which is what keeps first-time-fix rates high and cost per install predictable.
Reimbursement without arguments
Two approaches work. HMRC Advisory Electric Rates reimburse a fixed pence-per-mile and require nothing more than mileage records, simple, defensible, and slightly rough at the edges. Per-kWh reimbursement uses the charger's own metered data to pay for the actual energy delivered to the vehicle, which is fairer to drivers on expensive tariffs and produces a cleaner audit trail. Whichever you choose, write it into the driver policy before the first install rather than after the first complaint.
Properties, tenancies and moving on
A charger is a fixture and stays with the property. Landlord consent is required for rented homes and is worth confirming during onboarding rather than on the doorstep. When a driver moves house or leaves the fleet, the programme covers a fresh install at the new address, which is why the per-driver cost should be budgeted as a rolling programme rather than a one-off capital project.
Reporting the fleet manager actually needs
Installations completed and outstanding, certification held per address, maintenance activity, and energy delivered per driver for reimbursement. That set answers the finance, compliance and operational questions in one report, and it is what we provide monthly as standard.
